Aloha, my name is Megan Mckee and I was born and raised on the North Shore of O'ahu. Right before my junior year of high school my dad moved our family back to his hometown in Hoquiam, Washington. It was a huge culture shock for me and difficult transition. This experience has helped me to empathize with my military students.
I got to come back home and go to school at Brigham Young University-Hawaii out in Lai'e. I received my BS in Elementary Education. I recently completed a MED in Child Development at Chaminade University of Honolulu. I have been working at Hale Kula Elementary for 14 years. I started in first grade, then taught Kindergarten for the past 12 years, and now going back to first grade this school year.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I love to read, ride bikes, go to the beach, and I am a sucker for romantic comedies! I have made many friends while working at Hale Kula who have moved on and I have had many opportunities to travel and visit them all over the U.S. I am so in love with NYC and want to move there some day.
My favorites are: color-red; flower-gardenia; food-Italian; drink-guava juice; author-Nora Roberts; movie-there are too many but I would say "Last of the Mohicans"; and activity-shopping. Enough about me. I can't wait to get to know your children and their "favorites" this school year!
